IEA SHC TASK 54: One-World-Solar-System presentation
The Task meeting was accompagnied by an Austrian national Workshop on costefficient solar thermal systems.
Robert Buchinger, CEO of Sunlumo Technology, had the opportunity to present the novel One-World-Solar-System to the round of international experts.
The One-World-Solar-System is the logical completion of the previously developed One-World-Solar-Collector by a compact, standardized pumping group together with the accompanying piping and fittings.
For the first time, all components of the solar circuit are now made by 100% from polymer materials and producible economically at large scale. By using this key technology, benefits are maximised while at the same time, economical as well as environmental costs could be reduced by up to 50 per cent.
The IEA Task 54 aims at the end-user price reduction for solar thermal systems by evaluating and developing sustainable means to reduce production and/or installation costs on material, sub-component, system-component and system level.
Special emphasis is placed on the identification and reduction of post-production cost drivers, e.g.channels of distribution. An extensive market research and the definition of reference systems, cost analyses, and the study of socio-political boundary conditions for solar thermal prices in selected regions will provide the basis for the evaluation of cost-structures and the cost reduction potential. Additionally, ways to make solar thermal more attractive by improved marketing and consumer-oriented design will be explored.
